The Titans promised they would cauterize the wound. Their thermonuclear device detonated within Zone 37, but the fire never came. In the final instant, a Rift tore open inside the zone and swallowed the blast whole, consuming its destructive force before a single structure could fall.

The Zone survived untouched, but it did not remain unchanged.

Radiation levels spiked all over the area, and it now churns with impossible energy, casting never-before-seen anomalies across the land and drawing new things from beyond its depths. The factions return to a Zone still standing, haunted by one terrible question.
